      Our local train station is in Barnham Station -- just a few minutes by car.  

London, Brighton, Portsmouth, Chichester, Arundel, and Bognor Regis

are all on a direct line from the Barnham station.

Butlins in Bognor Regis is a good day out for the kids as is the Flying Fortress indoor activity centre.  This centre, which is ideal for younger children, can be found in Yapton -- just 5 minutes away from the farm. , or tel: 01903-733550.

West Wittering and Bosham are great places for wandering about the small boat harbors, small shops, pubs, and tea shops.

Golfers can enjoy a game at The Hilton, Avisford Park course on the outskirts of Walberton..

A trip to the Singleton Wield and the Downland Open Air Museum is educational as well as a great family day out.

The ancient Roman town of Chichester is ideal for shopping, cinema, and restaurants; and is only 5 minutes by train or just as easy to drive -- 10 minutes by car.  The cathedral and festival theatre are always worth a visit.  Chichester is of course also the home of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and many other activities on the Goodwood site.  Racing can be enjoyed at Goodwood as well as at Fontwell Park which is only a minutes away by car from Brookfield Farm.

Beaches are close by.  Just a few miles to Little Hampton, Climping, and Bognor Regis for fishing and crab fishing.  A favourite pastime for the kids.

Denmans Gardens is a super place to visit for lunch, especially in the warmer weather, and is just minutes away from Stable Cottage.  It has some great gardens to walk around and a lovely shop with knick-knacks to browse amongst after lunch in the garden.

The town of Arundel is also close by with Arundel Castle, the river Arun, and the Wetlands wild bird park are "must visits".  There are antique shops galore and of course tearooms serving cream teas.  The Black Rabbit pub for riverside lunches and a walk around Swanbourne Lake are highly recommended.

For dog walkers, hikers and those who enjoy outstanding countryside, there are myriads of footpaths and beautiful views in Slindon and the Southdowns.  The entire area is dotted around with quaint villages and pubs for lunches out.

Stable Cottage is situated in the little village of Walberton.  It is a short walk to the village pond and a mile to village shops for groceries and Sunday papers!
